The brand Chiusa Grande was established in 1991, when our family decided to convert our traditional processes to organic wine production, to be certified as organic producers under new Italian legislation REG. 2092-91.
A LIFESTYLE
I think today the least we can do to preserve our kids’ future is choosing organic over intensive agriculture.
At Chiusa Grande we made a personal and responsible choice, in line with our values.

UNO STILE DI VITA IN SIMBIOSI CON LA NATURA
We chose organic production for ethical reasons, to value the local rural traditions and to respect the environment and the consumer. We believe in an ideal world that is reflected in our philosophy of production (Vinosophia) and in our wines, which represent the synthesis of Life and Nature.
DEEP DIVE
For Organic Agriculture (as described in the REG. 834-2007 and REG. 203-12 legislation) we mean cultivation without the use of technical, chemical and intensive techniques, and feeding plants with natural products only.
This process starts from the vineyard where manure or other organic fertilisers are used in favour of chemicals to grow grapes full of mineral salts, vitamins and antioxidants.
And then it is reflected in specific techniques of production which allow us to produce wines with very low sulphite levels (80mg/l for white wines 60mg/l for red, a third lower than conventional wines).
